Xelloss' 'True Form'. I have always wondered about it, but never gave it a lot of thought. That is until I had the Slayers mangas shipped to me from Japan.

While flipping through the mangas to see if there was any cute pictures I would want to scan and use on this site, I ran across an interesting page in volume 7. It's the picture featured on the left of the page. If you would notice the large bat-like creature at the top of the image. What had originally attracted me to the image was the fact that Xelloss and Lina where holding hands, not the top of the image. I did stare at it for awhile. That's when it dawned on me. I recalled reading on several other sites that Xelloss' True Form was a cone like shape with one eyeball in the astral plane. But the sites never had an image of it. If you look at the image closely, there is a cone-like shape to the form. I became to wonder if I had found a picture of Xelloss' astral form. I flipped back a few pages to see if this page had anything to do with the pages before it. None-the pages before it didn't even have Xelloss' in them. So I flipped through the pages following the image. Once again none that connected to this image anywhere. It was simply a page separating the different chapters. Can I be for sure that it's Xelloss' True Form? No, sadly. That's why I put a '?' on this page. But it seems to be the only thing that fits and it would make a lot of sense, considering information on other sites.

A lot of other things also came to mind. The form at the top of the image had one huge eyeball. Is that the reason Xelloss can always keep his eyes closed in his human illusion? Because that's what his form is, an illusion. Was he really seeing through one invisible eyeball, and his human eyes where just for show? Ha. I'm probably thinking to much into that. Then one would wonder how he had arms, and hands. Among other human parts. O.o;

However, since I'm a Xelina fan. I began to wonder, how Xelloss would feel about being what he is, and by chance Lina got a look at his True Form? What kind of impact would this play on a relationship (It's currently creating fanfiction idea's in my head). The only similar situation I've seen in anime is the last episode of Fruits Basket. Where Kyou turns into another form. Another interesting question. Is Xelloss ashamed and/or embarrassed about his other form. For instance, when Lina and the gang encountered other mazoku. During the battle they revealed there true form, however; Xelloss' has never done so. Makes you wonder though.

In the end, it's up to you to decide if that's his true form. I'd like to think I found it. But we may never know.
